The Role

Fierce are looking for a Lead UX designer to join our growing Experience Design discipline; someone that is a champion for user needs and has the experience to take your team and stakeholders along a journey with you to ensure that you are defining, designing and building the right solutions together. You will have the opportunity to work with and support the Fierce discipline directors in improving internal processes, playbooks and standards for designers and clients.

As an individual contributor you will be expected to recognise when to be hands-on in the detail, to have the humility to learn what you don't know and to know when to set others in your team up for success through delegation, nurturing and directing. The right person will be able to confidently leverage the foundations of Design thinking, with an understanding how to bring the three lenses of viability, desirability and feasibility together, ****in order to help create user centric products and services that create meaningful change for our clients and support Fierce in creating a better world.


  • Establishing and effectively managing client relationships alongside leading on individual contribution work involving the delivery of high quality project work; from breaking down complex problems, discovering value, validating and iterating propositions all the way through to the delivery and optimisation of outstanding products and services that connect with user needs and business objectives.
  • Collaborate and partner closely with other design disciplines including research, product and visual design as well as project based cross functional teams to solve complex challenges through human-centred and impactful solutions.
  • Live our values and lead by example to line manage, support and coaching for more junior designers in the team and/or on projects to support their career, skill progression and ensure the quality of project deliverables.
  • Implementing and helping to develop the evolving UX and Experience Design discipline at Fierce through input into our strategy, processes, playbooks, principles & best practices.
  • Play a key role in representing Fierce and support the Fearless Community team and members whether through engaging in daily conversations, participating in events or something else that takes your fancy.

Requirements & skills

  • Experience in leading across the process of research, insight collation, ideation and concept generation. You should be able to demonstrate abilities in driving the planning, execution and synthesis of workshops, user research and testing to uncover crucial insights and be able to create compelling stories and artefacts including, behavioural segments, user and journey flows as well as concept, detailed and annotated wireframes, with minimal support, to bring your team and stakeholders on the journey with you.
  • An understanding of the fundamental principles of IAs, with the ability to create simple constructs, and guide users through card sorting and/or testing sessions.
  • Excellent written, presentation, time and task management skills with the ability to provide clear, articulate rationale for design choices and approach.
  • Familiarity with Figma, Sketch & Adobe Creative Suite. Additional prototyping tools would be a bonus!
  • Experience as a Lead UX Designer, working in Agency and collaboratively in an Agile manner with cross-disciplinary and multi-vendor teams in B2B and B2C environments across different geographies.
  • Have a portfolio or deck to showcase your work.




At Fierce we’ve been working remotely for the past year, embracing location flexibility fully. We’ve opened our office in London, while continuing to explore how a hybrid working environment can work. We currently expect our team to be working in the office 3 days a week.


  • We know the frustration of seeing an amazing role and not knowing if the pay is a fit.. so we've added the bands here to support pay equity and transparency. The range for this role is £70k to £85k.
